Our Story
Neither of us ever dreamed of a traditional fairytale wedding, and that’s exactly what you shouldn’t expect from ours! Instead, we’ll be doing things our own way to truly reflect who we are, creating a celebration that’s a deeply heartfelt thank you to each of you who have shaped us into the people we are today.
As a pair of “third culture kids” – Jonathon (English/French, mostly raised in Scotland) and Inês (Portuguese/Belgian, born & raised in Canada) – celebrating our unique blend of cultures is vital. You’ll find a special nod to each of our cultures and a mix of languages throughout the day, but don’t worry, we’ll make sure everyone knows what’s going on!
The proposal was perfectly “us.” After a lovely walk and a cozy dinner watching Great British Bake Off, Jonathon shared that he felt the day was perfect and wanted to spend every day like it. Inês said yes without hesitation, and champagne was popped!
The ring was beyond Inês’ dreams – perfectly sentimental. Jonathon designed it using gold from his grandmother’s jewellery, diamonds from his mother (an anniversary gift from his father), and a pearl, which Inês always wanted. It’s a true symbol of love, crafted from generations of love and commitment.
Our story began at Tessian, a cybersecurity startup in London. Sharing a strong work ethic (some might say workaholics!) and a love for Guinness, we often found ourselves the last ones in the office with a cheeky pint and endless stories.
These late-night chats quickly grew into a close friendship, evolving into something deeper. And just like that, our wild adventure began.
While our love story has its sweet, romantic moments, but it’s truly built on endless laughter, goofy grins, and a healthy dose of everyday ridiculousness.
