Questions
We recommend arriving by Friday, 3 July to allow yourself time to settle in, explore the beautiful surroundings, and join us for our welcome dinner that evening. There will be some of us who arrive at the venue on Thursday so if you want to come a bit earlier than Friday, you’re more than welcome to!
France is part of the Schengen Area. If you are a citizen of a visa-exempt country (like the US, UK, Canada, Australia), you can generally travel visa-free for up to 90 days. However, please be aware that starting in 2025, citizens from many visa-exempt countries will need to apply for an ETIAS travel authorisation online before travel. If you are not from a visa-exempt country, you will need a Schengen visa.
The currency in France is the Euro (€). Major credit cards are widely accepted, but we recommend carrying some cash for smaller purchases, local markets, and in more rural areas. Always notify your bank of your travel dates.
Taxis are available in larger towns like Béziers and Montpellier, but can be challenging to find on demand in smaller villages like Servian, especially late at night. We strongly advise pre-booking taxis for specific journeys. Ride-sharing services like Uber have limited availability in this region and should not be relied upon for wedding transport.
If you’re looking to explore the area, we highly recommend renting a car for your stay. It offers the most flexibility to explore the region and easily get to and from wedding events. All wedding events will be happening at the venue.
Expect hot, dry, and very sunny weather in July, with average high temperatures around 29–30ºC (84–86ºF) and warm evenings. Pack light, breathable clothing, and stay hydrated!
For our wedding, the dress code is cocktail attire. This means elegant and polished! For women, think knee-length, midi-length, or dressy mini-dresses, chic jumpsuits, or elegant separates in sophisticated fabrics. For men, a well-tailored suit in a dark or lighter summer color (like navy, charcoal, or light grey/tan) with a crisp dress shirt and tie is perfect.
While cocktail attire allows for personal style, a general French cultural consideration is to lean towards elegant and well-fitted clothing. Avoid overly casual wear like shorts, t-shirts, or sneakers for the wedding events.
A detailed timeline for the entire wedding weekend, including start and end times for all events, will be available on our The Big Day page closer to the date.

Our ceremony will be a beautiful blend of English, French, and Portuguese to honour our diverse backgrounds and loved ones. We are focused on ensuring that everyone knows what’s going on throughout, regardless of the language being used, so you can fully follow along and share in every special moment.
Your presence at our wedding is truly the greatest gift! However, if you wish to honour us with a gift, there are details here.
As long as you’ve given us a heads up that they’ll be attending, we would love for your entire family to attend all events.
While we adore our furry friends, we kindly request that pets are not brought to any of the events on the day of the wedding. The venue is pet friendly so feel free to bring them to stay with you, just not to the wedding itself.
Absolutely! We are committed to ensuring everyone enjoys the meal. Please indicate any dietary restrictions or allergies (e.g., vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, nut allergy) when you RSVP so we can inform our caterers.

Service is generally included (“service compris”) by law in France, so extra tipping is not obligatory. However, rounding up to the nearest Euro or leaving a small amount for excellent service (e.g., 5-10% at a restaurant, or a Euro or two for good cafe service) is always appreciated if you receive good service.
Please direct any questions before the wedding to Inês & Jonathon. During the wedding, our Wedding Planner, Angélique, will be on hand to answer any questions that come up.

Your mobile phone should work in France, but we highly recommend checking with your provider about international roaming fees. For a more cost-effective option, consider purchasing a local French SIM card or using an eSIM from apps like Airalo to avoid high roaming charges. Wi-Fi will be available at the Château.
Yes! France uses Type E or F electrical outlets (two round pins) and operates on 230V at 50Hz. You will need a travel adapter if you’re coming from a country with different plugs (e.g., UK, US, Canada, Australia). Most modern electronics are dual voltage, but always double-check your devices.
